The Group Reading Test II 6-14 (GRT) measures how pupils are performing compared to their peer groups throughout the UK. It also helps monitor pupils' overall literacy development in terms of the National Literacy Strategy. The test has been developed for use as a short screening / monitoring assessment for groups of children.
The GRT test:
- Gives reading ages and standard age scores
- Is accessible for pupils in its use of everyday language and situations
- Includes correlation tables, which enable you to match raw scores to a current National Curriculum level at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3
- Standard age scores given can be used to indicate the expected outcome for English at the end of Key Stages 1, 2 and 3.
