Going Abroad Spanish takes you on a trip to Mexico City and, over ten separate units, teaches you and gives you practice in a range of twenty-line dialogues of general Spanish, relating to useful situations you might find yourself in. Each of these unit dialogues contains follow-up exercises reinforcing the language and examining the structure.

There is a Word Lab in which you can hear and say individual words from the dialogue, thus enhancing your basic Spanish pronunciation. There is an excellent electronic grammar reference book, through which you can either browse or follow up precise links from within the main unit. Units include such items as Buying maps, Checking in at hotels, Eating out, Making phone calls, and a range of other useful topics. A microphone is required, which enables you to record your own version of phrases, to do role-plays and to obtain language structure practice.

Installation of this program is simple, requiring no key, and navigation within the units and from unit to unit is extremely clear and easy. This is a lovely revision program for pupils lacking confidence in speaking, and teachers might well recommend it for individual home use.
